OUR STORY
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Beacon was created to provide something many young people are missing... a place where they feel safe, understood, and able to learn again.
Over many years working in schools, alternative provision, and specialist settings, we saw first-hand how easily young people can become disengaged from education when their needs are not fully met.
We created Beacon to offer a different approach — one that prioritises relationships, emotional safety, and personalised learning, so that every young person has the opportunity to succeed in their own way.
At Beacon, we believe that:
-
Every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued
-
Progress starts with trust and relationships
-
Learning happens best in a calm, supportive environment
-
Education should prepare young people for life, not just exams
Our work focuses on rebuilding confidence, reducing anxiety, and helping students reconnect with learning at a pace that works for them.

OUR AIM
Our aim is simple:
To help young people who have struggled in education to rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and move forward positively.
Whether that means returning to school, accessing further education, or developing independence, we support each young person to take the next step.
What Our Students Say
“Before Beacon, when I went to school it was rubbish. I used to get suspended all the time and put in isolation for walking around to regulate myself. Now I get help with things and breaks when I need them. I’ve even done things I didn’t know I could do… It’s quiet, small, and just right for people like me.”
— R, pupil at Beacon
“Before I started at Beacon, my life was going downhill… Then I met my tutor, Fi. Now I’m learning again, doing Maths and baking, and I’ve made a best friend. I’m super proud of how far I’ve come.”
— O, pupil at Beacon
