A different Approach

Across Devon, much Alternative Provision is delivered through outdoor or activity-based models.
At Beacon, we offer a different approach: a small, calm, indoor-based learning environment designed to help young people reconnect with education.
Why Beacon Is Different
-
Small group and 1:1 sessions (typically 2–5 pupils)
-
A predictable, structured environment
-
Flexible, individualised programmes
-
Academic learning alongside emotional development
-
Support tailored to each student’s pace and needs
-
Strong emphasis on rebuilding relationships with education
-
Consistent, relationship-led support
-
Focus on sustainable re-engagement, not short-term engagement
We are not an activity-led provision, but learning at Beacon is not limited to traditional academic work. Through our half-termly themes, we create opportunities for students to engage in a range of subjects in a practical and meaningful way.
This approach allows us to build on individual interests, develop confidence, and support young people to reconnect with education.
